GOP continues its plunge

So Arlen Specter defected, outgoing Supreme Court Justice David Souter will be replaced by a Democratic president at the peak of his powers, and the GOP rebranding effort is being led by some of the exact people that plunged the brand to its deepest nadirs (Jeb Bush and John McCain, primarily). What could go worse?

Hateful, ignorant, lying demagoguery, and the wheezing gasps of a party that has absolutely nothing left to offer to the national discourse.
